Militiaman, the Homeland is calling you to fulfill,
to fulfill in the factory, the field, and the school, neighbourhoods, counties, and towns
Militiaman the Homeland is calling you to fulfill, to fulfill
we prepare against aggression,
defend our Revolution,
our homeland will be invincible
with the machete, hammer, book, and rifle

We swear to be alert working and studying, learning to be better militiamen,
for the Sandinista Homeland
militias organize.
Go on militiaman to comply. 

The Patriotic Military Service was so named to appeal to Nicaraguans who wanted to defend the country against U.S. military and political intervention. According to the Sandinista’s, it was one’s patriotic duty to defend Nicaragua and the revolution against the Contras.
