Description
The eradication of illiteracy became an important mandate for the Sandinista Front soon after the 1979 Revolution, as it was seen as a necessary step in the road to development. These posters were created for the Sandinistas Youth campaign held in Managua on July 19th 1980. The July 19th Sandinista Youth (JS-19) was a mass organization that was a principal actor in mobilizing youth in various affairs supporting the Sandinista movement, including the National Literacy Campaign and the Patriotic Military Service.
